Digg this article
These are some simple ways to get more views to your video which can get you popular.
1. Good title, description, and tags. If you want more views, you got to have a good title that can get you to be easily found when people browse youtube. Don't spam tags because that's annoying and plus could get you removed off youtube!
What's spam tags? When you post in your description a whole bunch of different words that people may search on youtube.
Example: This video has nothing to do with: Sex, porn, boobs, anal, blowjob, britney spears, paris hilton, sony, playstation, bluetooth, red, green, white, gold, zone, sexy, hearts, 11, final, mix, plus, secre,t movie, trailer, ending, the, secret, oprah, hockey, fights, basketball, soccer, martin, scorsese, american, idol, bloopers, and so on...
When giving your video a title, you can be as creative as you want and use words that's normally isn't searched on youtube (it makes your video stand out a bit more) but in a sense, it's good to use common tags so people can find your video.
2. Advertise!!! Don't spam but if you advertise at the right places for your video, you could increase the chances of getting more views. I have many places I showcase my video to.
2a. Digg. Do you have a digg account? If you answer no, then sign up for one! Also, if you have a digg account and everytime you submit something, it only gets a few diggs? Well, how many friends do you have on digg? 5? 10? 50? 100? More? Well, to get a lot of diggs to your video, it's best to have a lot of friends. If your video can hit the front page, you are going to be viewed by a TON of people. 2b. Stumbleupon is another big place to post your video. Stumbleupon matches users criteria and shows them pages that they may be interested in. I've used stumbleupon myself and found some really nice sites. :) http://www.stumbleupon.com/about/
2c. Here's some other sites that you can post your video on: http://mixx.com http://del.icio.us http://reddit.com http://orkut.com http://Fark.com http://forums.gametrailers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20
There are tons of sites you can showcase your video on and if a big site like joystick or kotaku finds your video and likes it, they might post it on their site which gets the video more views like with my one video "Deaths that just don't work for Mario." :)
3. Fan Base/Friends If you have a lot of fans on youtube, you'll be sure to get more views depending how many fans you have. If you have a lot of friends, share them your video but don't send more than 1 video in a day because it gets annoying receiving a ton of videos.
4. Have something worth commenting Put in your video or description saying to comment on the video or if it's like a series of different clips, say something like "Which one do you like the best?" The more comments you receive, the higher the ranking, and then if you get honors for it, people will find your video easier.
5. And last but not least... Make good videos. Well, true isn't it? If your video sucked, you won't get many views on it unless it somehow sucked so much that people checked it out or if it was a trick video saying like new Zelda game when all it is, is just fake images or you might of seen on the most viewed list of a video like "Nude Britney Spears" when all it is, is just a still image. o.o When you do make a video, try to make it an original, don't copy anyone. With my one video, "Deaths that just don't work for Mario" that was an original video though, I did get some ideas from the Angry Video Game Nerd but still, it was an original concept!!!! o.o
But yeah, if your video is original and good, people will watch. If you do decide to copy someone, try to make it one of your own. If you ever watched the Angry Video Game Nerd, then watched the irategamer, you'll really notice that he got ideas from the AVGN but he also gave his own ideas to making it work and people are watching him. I consider him the second best game reviewer only because you can't really beat the original.
